So, here are the new Jets sweaters for the upcoming season, photo credit to Icethetics.

I think that the home sweaters are really sharp. The light blue/white striping on the arm is a nice traditional touch, and the bottom helps keep the chest insignia from appearing to be floating in mid-air. I’m not as crazy about the road sweaters, which is a change for me. As much as I like the striping on the arms on the home sweater, extending the navy down the arms instead of isolating it on the shoulder yoke creates a weird effect as it overlaps. Anyways, I think it’s a solid start for a team looking to make a new identity in an old market. I’m looking forward to seeing these October 19th when they play the Leafs.

The team has said there will be no third sweater this year. Reading between the lines, maybe a light blue alternate next year?

Via a report on the hockey sweater blog Icethetics, the Winnipeg Jets are due to unveil their new sweaters this coming Tuesday. I’m very intrigued by the fact, considering that True North has come out and said the counterfeit products already made do not in any way resemble the real product. I actually liked those counterfeit ones. Anyways, we’ll see what the new Jets franchise has for fashion in the NHL.

Ridiculous play coming from Sunday’s NFL action. Andre Johnson just reached up there and stole that ball away. The most impressive thing about that play: it was a 4th and 10 heave to the end zone with 2 minutes left in the game. If this pass falls incomplete, game over. With this catch, the Texans forced overtime eventually winning on a field goal. That was the first overtime win in Houston Texans history, improving their record to 1-6 in those games.

Also worth consideration: Randy Moss’ one handed touchdown catch against the Jets.
