Here’s my bracket for the upcoming NCAA Tourney. I don’t expect much to come of it. A couple years ago, I had a perfect day in the opening round. I was too excited about it and predictions seemed to be biting me in the butt after.

My Final four came down to Kentucky, Missouri, UNC, and Ohio State. I settled on a Missouri/UNC final because I don’t trust Kentucky in big games. They also had really close games in the SEC Tournament, a very weak conference. I took a long time deciding between Michigan State and Missouri. I’ve just seen the Spartans get off to some really slow starts that could hurt them in the tourney. Between Ohio State and UNC, I don’t think OSU will be able to score with the Tar Heels, even with their injuries. Plus, Henson should be back by then to help Zeller give Sullinger fits in the middle.

When picking between UNC and Missouri, I went with my gut. While they’ve had some tough losses, they’ve only been blown out once (by a hot-shooting Florida State team). I just have a feeling about the Tar Heels, especially with Marshall’s ability to find the open man in transition and his inability to turn the ball over.

Holy Crap!

I just found out I’m going to some NCAA Tournament games in March in Pittsburgh. More details to follow closer to the date, but I’m already super excited!

I’m normally not very excited about basketball video games.  They just never seem to do it for me.  I can’t really explain it.  However, this new NBA 2K11 has me intrigued.  The Michael Jordan-inspired Greatest Moments challenging sound … well, challenging.  I’d sure like to try to beat the Cavs by 69 points in a game.  They also say we’ll have to beat the Jazz with the flu, like in Game 6 of the 1997 Finals.  I can only imagine that they’ll reduce his stats in a way to make him feel more sluggish.  Whatever the case may be, this certainly has me excited.  It’s a rare feat for a basketball game.
